The Atlantic Expedition is currently in its second round. After fellows of the first Expedition developed policy recommendations and created the Atlantic Memo “Transatlantic Relations in a New Era: The Next Generation Approach”, participants of the second Expedition joined forces to develop new strategies for communicating transatlantic relations to a diverse audience and consequently making the transatlantic relationship a more inclusive endeavor.
We are currently in the online workshop phase and fellows of the second Atlantic Expedition joined working groups dealing with topics such as story telling and a new transatlantic narrative, stakeholder mapping, new actors and allies, city-to-city cooperation, diversity and inclusion, tools and methods, a transatlantic declaration and education – all aimed at making the transatlantic partnership fit for the decades to come.
In October, Expeditioners will meet up and travel to Chicago and Houston to present and discuss their ideas and proposals with representatives from politics, media, business and civil society. We’re excited to receive input from a range of different stakeholders and build upon their feedback. Projects and recommendations developed during the second Atlantic Expedition will be published in an Atlantic Memo in autumn/winter 2017 – so stay tuned! All results from the first and second Expedition will then be consolidated and presented during our Atlantic Basecamp in spring 2018 in Berlin.
Throughout the Expedition, we will share insights, key moments and impressions via social media. We’re eager to make the experience as inclusive as possible and encourage an open and inclusive debate. We love to receive your feedback and hear your ideas – feel free to get in touch with any input you might have! To stay up-to date, virtually join our expedition and add your voice to the discussion, please find us on facebook and twitter.
