Now More Than Ever People unite for a cause. In 2004 when a tsunami hit southeast Asia, people came together, donating unprecedented amounts of money to support first aid and humanitarian work. When terrorists attacked the office of Charlie Hebdo, murdering several journalists, people across the world came together to demonstrate solidarity. Meeting the 2-degree […]

Following the Paris Agreement, climate commitments must be backed by concrete action.  Meeting the obligations under the Agreement will require effective and innovative policy solutions and transformation in the energy sector and beyond. The US and Germany, as climate leaders and policy pioneers, are at the forefront of these efforts and should expand cooperation beyond […]

Toward a Decentralized Framework for Climate Engagement

Following the Paris Agreement, global climate protection must focus on translating commitments into concrete action. The US and Germany, as climate leaders, must be at the forefront of these efforts. As both countries, and indeed all countries, undertake energy transition, climate policy requires cooperative leadership and is an opportunity to broaden the relationship between federal, […]

Coming Together After Paris

Global climate protection efforts following the Paris Agreement must focus on how to translate commitments into concrete action and progress. About

Atlantic Expedition is a fellowship program aiming to empower a younger and more diverse generation of leaders in transatlantic relations.

The Atlantic Expedition is currently in its second round. After fellows of the first Expedition developed policy recommendations and created the Atlantic Memo “Transatlantic Relations in a New Era: The Next Generation Approach”, participants of the second Expedition joined forces to develop new strategies for communicating transatlantic relations to a diverse audience and consequently making the transatlantic relationship a more inclusive endeavor.

From 9-14 October, fellows of the second Atlantic Expedition traveled to Chicago and Houston to present and discuss their ideas and proposals with representatives from politics, media, business and civil society. They published their recommendations in a second Atlantic Memo titeled “Atlantic Expedition II: Towards a More Inclusive Transatlantic Partnership” .

To stay up-to date, virtually join the expedition and to add your voice to the discussion, please find us on facebook and twitter.
