Inga K. Trauthig grew up in the South of Germany as the daughter of a German mother and American father. She received a B.A. in Political Science, Sociology and American Studies from the Julius-Maximilians-University in Würzburg. During her undergraduate studies she spent one year in the US at the University of Texas at Austin where she worked with Professor Terri Givens. After, she earned an Mlitt in Middle East, Caucasus and Central Asian Security Studies from the University of St. Andrews. In the last years, she worked at a Human Rights NGO, the German Parliament, the Texas Democratic Party and as a political consultant in Berlin. She is now a research fellow at the International Centre for the Study of Radicalisation (ICSR) in London.
